Online Security

Gulf State Community Bank wants to offer you the most convenient banking features in the most secure environment available.  This is a two way process and we anticipate that you will also take the necessary precautions on your end to ensure your personal information stays safe.   Some suggestions for your use are included here as well. With the proper safety measures in place, your online banking transactions remain protected and secure and convenient.

We use the most current encryption technology to ensure your personal information is protected.  Gulf Link users are required to have full 128–bit Encryption. Web browsers Explorer, Netscape or newer or AOL with at least 128-bit encryption are acceptable for PC’s and Safari® or Firefox® for Mac’s

User ID and Password:

To access your online account you must provide a unique User ID and Password. It is important that you choose a password that you can remember but will be difficult for someone else to figure out. Avoid birthdays and children’s names, etc. Keep your password a secret and do not reveal it to anyone. Gulf State Community Bank will never ask for your password. Once entered, your User ID and Password are encrypted. You will notice that your Password is not visible when you type it.

Three (3) Attempt Lockout

If you, or an unauthorized person, try to Log In to your account and the information is entered incorrectly, the banks’ security features will disable the password on the third attempt and prevent opening the page. You will need to contact us to reset a new password for your account. Passwords are case sensitive so be sure to enter the password the same way you created it. Watch for the CAPS-LOCK when entering your code.

Automatic Timeout

After a specified period of inactivity your online session will end. This prevents someone having access to your information if you were to walk away from your screen for a time and forget to logout.

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)

SSL is a technology used by safe web browsers to communicate securely with gscb.com’s servers as well as opening a defended communication between you and our servers. An authentication, created by SSL technology, reduces the risk for third party interception. You will notice the gold lock on the bottom right side of the web page when on a secure site.

Firewall Protected

Firewalls limit access of outside computers. Only authenticated users may send and receive transmissions through a firewall.  We recommend that you have a firewall installed on your system.

Data Storage Protection

Our web site database stores your information in an encrypted format.
